Alcohol
Go Easy on the Drink
Alcohol is a contributing factor in about 1/3 of all boating accidents. The risk for people paddling is that the mixture of alcohol, sun, wind and waves can have a multiplying effect. It is called "boaters fatigue" and it can make it more difficult to balance and swim.
Just like in any boat, it is an offence to operate a kayak or canoe while under the influence of alcohol. Keep under the point 05 limit.
Mixing alcohol and paddling or rowing is just not worth it.
